I posted my 4SQS5 off today. It looks a little different than the last time I showed it. I was unhappy with how it looked last time but my wise mother gave me some help and I now am happy with how it turned out.
A peek at the back - beautiful, yummy looking raspberries! I bought heaps of it ages ago and have backed a few quilts with it.
A close up. It is going overseas so will take a little while to get to its recipient. I hope she like it!

While visiting simpleyjoolz I noticed she was doing "Pay if forward" so now I am doing it too! Joolz will be sending me something handmade in the next 12 months and I want to do the same for three people.
So, I will make something special for the first three people who comment on this post, and those commenters can do their own "Pay it forward" on their blog. I will make and send off the goodies sometime in the next 12 months. If you are interested in playing leave a comment on this post and you can then play "Pay it forward" on your blog!

Today I got my quilt from the Four Season Quilt Swap made for me by modern jax. It is beautiful and I am not the only fan - the little boy loves it too. He was helping me to take photos of it.
I love the colours. You can't see so well in the photo but the quilting is with dark blue and so is the binding.
The back is pieced (as all my favourite backs are) with the same fabrics as the front. I am not sure yet where in my house it will live. It is possible that it will be used as a dolly quilt as my little man loves it so much!

Here it is quilted and bound . . .
. . . and backed with red. I am not sure which way is up now that its quilted. Maybe dark maybe light. I was going to appilque kites on the sky but I am unsure about that now too. We will see. Hopefully inspiration will strike in the next few days and then I can finish it and send it off. I am so excited to see what my partner thinks of it!

I am participating in the Four Seasons Quilt Swap monochromatic challenge. I love to do a swap because it always encourages me to do something I might never have done otherwise. This is the summer quilt I am making for my partner. I can show it to you because the swap is secret and my partner doesn't know who is sending her quilt. Its inspired by "All in the blue unclouded weather" by Robin Kline (I love that book). I am not sure what I am going to back it with yet. Maybe red . . . maybe blue. I'm not sure. We will see. After quilting I am going to applique on it. I am so excited about it and hope to finish it soon!

My little boy was so interested with the last lot of rain we had. He hasn't experienced rain in his memory. I was reading our local messenger today and loved the cartoon in the opinion section!
I love rain so much! I love to hear it, smell it, and walk in it. I love to get rained on. I don't mind when I can't hang washing on the line and have to dry it all inside. I love how the playground gets all wet, and you get a wet bottom. I love walking, driving and riding through puddles. I love to see water rushing down the creek. I love it when its cold and you have to rug up. I love umbrellas. I even love it when you are tired and grumpy coming home and get soaked with rain, because when you get home you have a bath and listen to the lovely rain while drinking a hot Milo!
