Little lunch bag

I was having a not so great day yesterday and felt the need to rescue myself. I came across this pattern a little while ago and so sat down and made it. It was quick and just the rescue I needed. Sewing is just magic like that. I am now convinced I need to buy the book and maybe a few other from the series.

The silliness of boys

My little man is very lucky to have lots of great boys and men in his life. He has young ones his age, kids who are older, teenagers, adults, and the many varied older adults - and those are just the ones he is related to! He loves his girls and women too, but when you are a boy having lots of boys is special. Here he is with his uncle enjoying a silly moment. How else are kids supposed to learn what you do with sticky notes?

Little baby cardigan

Some more knitting at my house. This was a chunky knit so very quick and fun to knit up. Does need some snaps but I am sure that will happen eventually!

Drawing and painting

I have been thinking about Christmas at my house. Thinking of making stuff and decorations and twinkle lights in the evenings with all the lights off. Today my little man and I did some Christmas inspired drawing with crayons and painting with watercolours. We both had fun but the little man does like to put the crayons and paintbrushes in his mouth a lot! Thus he ended up with less pictures than me but his are some of the nicest.

I have also finished more overalls, some of which the boy is wearing right now. I really love making this that get used. It makes me feel happy! I am thinking of making some comfy preggy dresses for summer which could be fun.

Summer overalls

Here are the first of many overalls I cut out and sewed! The little man is a little confused as to why I want him to stand still, but I managed to get a photo without him being too blurry. The overalls are very fun to sew and hopefully I can get through them all by the end of next week (fingers crossed).

My silliest sister and I have been making soap. We made chocolate, honey and oatmeal, and milk and ginger soap. Hopefully in a few days I can show you some. It really is so easy and very fun!

Summer sleeping bag

It is very exciting, sewing happened at my house today! It has been a long while but I finally managed it. The hint of changing seasons and the need fo summer clothing for my little man has prompted me to get organised and sewing. I made this sleeping bag start to finish (made the pattern and all) and it must be ok because the boy is napping in it as I type. The next thing on my to do list is to cut out shirts and cottony overalls and shorts. Maybe after that I will sew tiny baby clothes and then maybe quilts and then maybe . . . I do get a little carried away.
