Softie sewing

Did some sewing last night and made a crocodile and a lion. I am not sure if I like them or not. I think the pattern needs some more work. It is fun to be sewing toys again though. Today I am sewing notebooks. Isn't sewing just the best!

Sheep are yummy

My little lady has discovered this sheep I made a while ago. She thinks he is hilarious and delicious. The boy is trying to be kind and sharing him a lot. I may have to make another one.

Pram quilt

Don't you just love small, quick projects! Inspiration comes, you have fabric in your stash, and not too long after you have the finished product. So fun! Finished this a little while ago but only just got around to posting. At first I thought it a little silly to make a quilt this small but it has been really great and I have been using it lots. And of course I can't resist making toys.

Silly kid-ness

I have been reading this much loved book to my son today. This is a new version I have only recently aquired, but it is a book that my parents had that I used to read and read. I think every household (especially Aussie ones) should have this book if only for this page - my favourite!

We were having a bad day at our house, but then had fun visitors and now feel all happy again! Lots of playing to be had here. Trains seem to be a reoccurring theme at our house!

The best things in life are covered in yoghurt

Art project

I was very inspired by this and thought I needed an art project. I don't really want to do it exactly the same and I want to use a part pack of cards but I think it's going to be fun! I love the small canvas of a playing card. Little space and little pressure. My boy was happily doing drawing while I did this but after a while he decided he needed cards too so will be joining me with some cards of his own.

Lovely yarn

My mother-in-law gave me some lovely yarn yesterday. It's cotton, feels lovely, is gorgeous and I can't wait to use it! I am in the middle of knitting something for me, but as soon as I am done I am casting on something with this!

In regard to the giveaway, I really enjoyed visiting new blogs I have never been to before, and the winner is Jo! I will be sending you some exciting mail soon.

Our house has a very small backyard, but there is a small strip of dirt running along the side fence. It gets an ok amount of sun and grows weeds very well so the little man and I decided to pull the weeds and put some plants in. We bought some seedling (herbs) and planted some broad bean seeds. Proof here that I am very impatient but I lost interest because plants grow slow. I am the sort of person that wants to do everything quickly! The past few days have been exciting though as the broad beans have started to come up! We are all excited again so are headed to the shop soon to buy some more seeds.

150th giveaway!

Missed my 100th and can't wait for my 200th, so 150th it is! I love a good celebration and a giveaway is my favourite way to celebrate. I love blogging mostly for myself and the fun or re-reading my posts but also for discovering other people blogs and all the inspiration out there. So, if you would like to enter my givaway please leave a comment on this post before Saturday the 24th when I will announce the winner of this cute little journal. It has a fabric cover, 30 blank sheets of paper and is closed with a snap - as all the best things are! I love it so much I am going to make one for me too!

Fortune cookies

Sunday dinner got me thinking about stuff. Don't you just love fortune cookies! I has got me writing some dreams down, enjoying others blogs without wishing I was like them and given me renewed confidence that I can do things. Silly that I needed some bit of paper to remind me of those things (as I already know them) but I am human and us humans do tend to need telling the same things over and over.

A quilt in rows

This is what I was doing during the sewing day yesterday. Sewing the binding on took all day - as it does with a baby on your lap helping. I had so much fun making this quilt and I am so happy it is done. It had been waiting to be quilted for a long time, and I finally talked myself into it. Now I feel all energised about quilting and I can't wait for the next!

Sewing day!

My mum came over for a sewing day today. I had heaps of fun and even did some sewing! And ate some yummy food too.
