Favourite Things Friday

It is Christmas at my house! Well, in my lounge room at least. Can you tell small children live here? This is my quiet room away from the toys and such, and I am just loving sitting in the evening with the tree lights on reading mags/blogs. I have a rule of no catching up on housework once the children are in bed. Not too much anyway.

Good rule! You time is important. Sophie thinks your definite kid-reach zone on the tree is impressive and very cool.

Lovely tree and that room certainly has an air of quiet solitude about it. Glad you take some time to yourself.

I understand. I've always felt that way about the room with the tree during the holidays. even as a kid I'd get away and sit with a lamp lit and the tree lit and just read or sit and say some prayers. Good FTF.

How great that you have scheduled Mom Time! Your room looks delightful for your own contemplations.

I had to laugh at your kid proof tree. I should have done that at our house since Little P drives me mad ripping decorations off the tree every single time he comes to visit.

I think as a Mum it's really important to have some "me" time. Good on you for doing that.

I remember having to child proof the tree, or kitten/puppy proofing it too.
It's so nice to be able to have somewhere quiet and peaceful to sit.

Looks like a great (and festive) room to relax. You definitely need some downtime....enjoy it!

Never did the get the ornaments out of reach thing, the kids just knew not to touch mum's tree (I have my own) they decorate and can play with their own tree as much as they like but don't touch mum's lol its usually up on a table so it is pretty much out of reach anyway. Now that they are older I let them 'help' decorate mine with direction of course. A quiet place to call your own a great FTFF
